Apple News curation and liveblog

As a contractor at Apple News, Georgia curates breaking news and forecasts in the Weather app. During multiple hurricanes in fall 2024, she tracked updates across the Southeast to surface important local stories to affected cities, counties in states. She also sends breaking news and features notifications, with a focus on California, and curates elsewhere in the app.

On election night, Georgia contributed local news updates to Apple News’ main liveblog under tight deadlines.

L.A. Times Apple News pushes and featuring

On the L.A. Times audience team, Georgia wrote and sent Apple Pushes, and pitched major breaking news to Apple editors to land stories in front of millions of readers.

 As a web and senior social media producer at Hearst Connecticut Media Group, Georgia wrote and sent mobile alerts, revised headlines and improved photo selection while packaging paywalled stories.

At The Los Angeles Times’ News Desk, Georgia wrote and sent alerts, often in a fast-paced breaking news setting. She revamped headlines to make them more concise, compelling and clear. She also enhanced the digital presentation of Column Ones, the newspaper's showcase front-page feature.
